Seborrheic Keratosis

Seborrheic keratoses (SKs) are common skin growths. These benign growths can occur almost anywhere on the skin. SK’s begin as slightly raised, light brown spots with gradual thickening and take on a rough, warty surface and slowly darken.

Symptoms

Symptoms of seborrheic keratoses include:

  • Ranges in color from light tan to brown or black
  • Is round or oval shaped
  • Has a characteristic "pasted on" look
  • Is flat or slightly raised with a scaly surface
  • Ranges in size from very small to more than 1 inch across
  • May itch
